Admission and Entry

The Faculty of Food Technology Osijek enrols students in the first year of the undergraduate university study programme of Food technology in accordance with the ‘’Open call for enrolment of students in the first year of study programmes 2019/2020’’ announced by the University of Osijek and published on its website, as well as on the website of the Rector's Conference.

Available places for the fall 2019/2020. These are in addition to enrolments conducted earlier in 2019.

  • 30 full-time students, who are citizens of the Republic of Croatia and EU Member States, who passed a State Matura exam, and who:
    • for the first time apply in the first year of undergraduate study and do not pay for participation in the cost of studies or
    • apply in the first year of undergraduate university studies, but have already been enrolled in another undergraduate university or professional studies and pay for full participation in the costs of the first year of studies in amount of 7.370,00kn.
  • 5 full-time students, foreign nationals, who can study with the payment of annual tuition in the amount of 15,000.00 kn, and who have qualified by passing the State Matura exam
  • according to special conditions, 5 full-time students over 25 years of age, who have completed their four-year secondary education in the Republic of Croatia before 2010, and for the first time apply in the first year of undergraduate study, and do not pay for participation in the costs of study.

Candidates who have completed their secondary education outside the Republic of Croatia must undergo the procedure of recognition of a foreign secondary education qualification. The process of recognition of a foreign secondary education qualification for general college-preparatory high school (hr: Gimnazija) and arts programs is conducted by the Education and Teacher Training Agency. The process of recognition for secondary education qualification in vocational programs is conducted by the Agency for Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education (more on the link).

The procedure for recognition of a foreign secondary education qualification is completely separate from the procedure for applying for the state final exam (State Matura) or study programmes at higher education institutions. It is, therefore, important to contact the above agencies in a timely manner so that the entire process is completed on time. In the case of general high-school and arts programs, the candidate contacts the Education and Teacher Training Agency, and in the case of secondary education in vocational programs, the candidate contacts the Agency for Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education.

Important: Both agencies will not forward the candidate's documentation to the Central Application Office or to the higher education institution. The candidate is obliged to independently carry out both procedures (the procedure of recognition of the foreign secondary education qualification and the procedure of applying for the State Matura exam and / or the application for study programmes) and is obligated to forward the documentation of Matura Exam to the Central Application Office

The decision on recognition of a foreign secondary educational qualification does not have to be submitted to the Central Application Office, but for the purposes of application in higher education institutions it is to be submitted to the higher education institution upon application.
